Istanbul Urban Architecture

A friend of mine that is an architect was browsing recently through some of my photos. When we met a few days ago she asked me if I have any special interest on architecture in general or buildings in particular.

To be honest, I never thought I do! On second thought, maybe I am a typical voyeur,"deriving pleasure from observing"!

Traveling through some suburban areas of Istanbul, as we were approaching it by train from west. I was expecting something more similar to the Greek urban environment - that is - "the reign of gray" plus balconies. But no! Tasteful selection of colors and large windows in central European style.

If you're in the mood to focus on the small decorative beauties, Istanbul buildings have lots to offer.

But I think I should let the photos do the talking...
